MENTORS AND VOLUNTEER

Mentors and Volunteer with Suave Foundation If you have a little time or a lot to give We have a place for you. Opportunities are subject to change.
Mentors provide the expertise and practical experience which forms a crucial aspect of the Career and entrepreneurial Mentoring program. Mentors provide industry knowledge, an in-depth understanding of organizational culture, politics, networking, business and protocol.

REGISTER AS A MENTOR
To register to be a mentor simply complete the online mentor registration form. Once you hit the submit button it will automatically be sent to the Career and entrepreneurial Mentoring Advisor and you will receive an email confirmation.

MENTOR OPPORTUNITIES
Coordinators of Suave Foundation Mentoring program will provide support to mentors throughout the program. In return, the Mentor is provided with opportunities in the mentoring relationship.

MENTORSHIP INVOLVEMENT
Mentor registration will involve the completion of a registration form, followed by an interview at the mentor's convenience. The interview will outline the objectives and expectations of SUAVE FOUNDATION Mentoring program and the roles and responsibilities of the mentor and mentee.
The Mentoring program respects the sacrifice of time and effort of the mentor in order for this program to succeed. To this end, the coordinators of the SUAVE FOUNDATION Mentoring program will endeavor to support and assist the Mentor to ensure that the mentoring process is efficient, seamless and beneficial to both parties.

The mentor can contribute to the development of the mentee in the following ways:
• interpersonal communications (employability skills)
• Business Start Up
• Financial Knowledge
• Investments
• self-confidence
• negotiation skills
• problem solving
• accessing resources
• networking
• realisation of personal goals.

Mentors require:
• the ability to listen
• questioning skills
• a passion for their work and industry
• the ability to provide constructive and positive feedback
• planning and decision making skills
• the ability to encourage the mentee to set clear goals.
Mentors are not required to provide all the answers, instead the mentor encourages the mentee to use their available resources to identify solutions. It is therefore, a partnership where the mentor and mentee work in a collaborative manner.
We appreciate the time and effort given by mentors to participate in the development of mentees, and believe that this relationship can be mutually beneficial to both parties.
